Shekarau Dumps APC, Joins PDP

The Presidential Candidate of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) during the 2011 election, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has formally defected from the All Progressives Party Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Shekarau who addressed his supporters in Kano Wednesday on his decision said that APC has no single structure in Kano and no membership registration after six months of the merger.

He said that apart from this problem, within six months, various unconstitutional policies were carried out by the leadership of the party, adding that the party failed to address the issues he had appealed to them to address.

"The party is against the social spirit of democracy, it is based on this, I and all my supporters moved a motion to denounce our membership.
