Only a few military generals were aware of the entire operation because they coordinated with the DSS to visit Sambisa Forest in the middle of the night. Lai Mohammed Gives Details On Chibok Girls Release

Information Minister Lai Mohammmed explained that President Muhammadu Buhari, the  (DSS), and the Nigerian military had been working closely with “a friendly European country and a renowned international humanitarian organization,” “This is not a swap. This was a release which was effected because over time, we succeeded in confidence building. “This particular release is significant because it’s just a first step in what we believe will lead to the eventual release of all our girls in custody. It is significant also because we have been able to establish more than ever before a confidence in both the leadership of Boko Haram and Nigerians. “I am not aware of any monetary transaction,” he said. “When you are fighting insurgency, it’s a combination of carrot and stick.‎ The release of these girls does not mean the end to military operations. Buhari Give Service Chiefs 3months to Bring down Boko Haram

President Mohamadu Buhari has on Thursday tasked the new appointed Service Chiefs to synergize with other nation’s security apparatus and hunt down Boko Haram insurgents within the next three months. The president said that that would be the only way the new military helmsmen would justify the confidence resposed in them by his government. In a brief swearing in ceremony of the new service chiefs performed at the Villa, “I want to reiterate that your appointments and subsequent elevation to these ranks are based on your pedigree as first class senior officers who identify sterling leadership qualities. Boko Haram militants capture Chibok again

Boko Haram sect have, again, seized Chibok, the home of over 200 schoolgirls abducted by the insurgents in April. The insurgents attacked and seized the town on Thursday evening, residents said. The attackers have repeatedly targeted villages around Chibok over recent months. A senator from Borno State, Ali Ndume, told the BBC Hausa service that security forces deployed in the town ran away when the insurgents attacked. Residents said the insurgents headed to the centre of Chibok and declared that they were taking it over as part of their caliphate. The insurgents have changed tactics in recent months by holding on to territories rather than using hit-and-run attacks that have left thousands dead.

70 Boko Haram Killed By Villagers in Adamawa

"Members of a vigilante group in Madagali, a town in Adamawa State, have killed more than 70 Boko Haram members and and handed over seven captured militants to the police. The vigilantes acted after they were tipped off by a local food vendor that the militants were coming to get food before heading out for a major operation to raid villages in the area, usually carried out at night. The vigilant group mobilized, laid ambush and waited patiently for the militants, a source in the village disclosed. The source added that as soon as the Islamist insurgents numbering more than 100 showed up in the village to pick up their favorite meals, the vigilantes attacked them, killing most of them in a hail of bullets. Today's attack is the second time this week that local vigilantes would defeat the rampaging militants. US Experts Set to Start Work Chibok, Nigeria

US Secretary of State John Kerry says a specialist team is set to start work in Nigeria to help find more than 200 schoolgirls abducted by militants. He said the US team, working with the Nigerian government, would do everything possible to free the girls. Earlier, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan said he hoped "a turning point" had been reached in the fight against Islamist insurgents Boko Haram. “Our daughters were carried away by the insurgents like cows into the wilderness. If they are dead; we want to see their corpses.” Some women of Chibok, Borno State, on Tuesday marched to Nigeria’s National Assembly, urging the Federal Government to intensify efforts to rescue the remaining 230 female students abducted two weeks ago. The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that 273 girls were abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno, by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on April 14. Of the number, 43 girls had so far escaped from their abductors unharmed. Again Boko Haram kills 300, Abducts 11 more girls

IN another daring operation, members of the terrorist Islamic sect, Boko Haram, on Monday night killed about 300 people in Gamboru Ngala, Borno State. Gamboru Ngala is a border town with Cameroon. The insurgents reportedly drove into Gamboru Ngala in armoured vehicles. It was learnt that the insurgents, who seemed to have targeted a local market, shot sporadically at traders at the market before proceeding into the town to wreak more havoc. Gamboru is situated along Nigeria-Cameroon border and is the administrative headquarters of the Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State. It is about 200 kilometres  from Maiduguri, the state capital city. Senator Ahmed Zannah, who is representing the area in the Senate, confirmed the killings. "Suspected Boko Haram gunmen kidnapped eight girls aged 12 to 15 from a village near one of their strongholds in northeast Nigeria overnight, police and residents said on Tuesday. "They were many, and all of them carried guns. They came in two vehicles painted in army colour. They started shooting in our village," said Lazarus Musa, a resident of Warabe, where the attack happened. A police source, who could not be named, said the girls were taken away on trucks, along with looted livestock and food. Over a 100 School Girls Abducted in Borno
