Bomb Making Factory Uncovered in Okpella, Edo State

A Bomb making factory has been discovered at Okpella. The strangers who were living in the premises with their wives and children, which the community thought they were farmers, little did they know that the premises was a bomb making factory. Nigeria Senate Turned Down Confirmation Of Magu As EFCC Chairman

Yesterday the Senate turned down the confirmation of Ibrahim Magu as substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, upon a security report by the Department of State Services, DSS, sparking a verbal backlash from supporters of Magu.  The 14-paragraph confidential report said that Magu has failed the integrity test and that if confirmed, he could eventually constitute a liability to the anti-corruption drive of the administration. The Senate, however, gave approval for the screening of the four members of the EFCC board whose names were sent alongside Magu by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo for confirmation in July while President Muhammadu Buhari was away on medical vacation. 

FG Banned the Importation of Vehicle through Land Borders:

Nigeria government has on Monday banned the importation of vehicles into Nigeria through the land borders. The statement made know by the Public Relations Officer of Customs, Wale Adeniyi, said “The prohibition order covers all new and used vehicles., “The ban is sequel to a Presidential Directive restricting all vehicle imports to Nigeria Sea Ports only. “The order takes effect from 1st January 2017. he said, “The restriction on importation of vehicles follows that of Rice, whose imports have been banned through the land borders since April 2016. “Importers of vehicles through the land borders are requested to utilise the grace up till 31st December 2016 to clear their vehicle imports landed in neighbouring ports.”

ASUU Strike Cripples Academic Activities Across the Country

The one-week warning strike declared by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has crippled academic activities across the country. Main while the federal government through the  Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, however, appealed to ASUU to rescind its decision to embark on the one week warning strike from November 16. Flights to be Diverted for Rehabilitation of Abuja Airport

“Government is making urgent effort to start the rehabilitation of the runway at the Abuja airport and government has provided funds for the work, which could start anytime from now. “The committee is expected to schedule the maintenance dates, which are expected to run from days to weeks. “It is expected to also decide whether the runway would be closed daily or some hours of the day so that work could start on the facility”, the source added. According to the source, Mr. Sirika had designated Kaduna airport as alternative to Abuja so that flights would be diverted to Kaduna while work is ongoing at the nation’s second busiest airport

A Cook Of NNPC MD Esther Ogbue Dissappears with $6m worth Cash And Jewelry

A cook who served Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, a Managing Director at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Abuja, has ran away with cash and pieces of jewelry worth $6million,on Wednesday. The man, identified as Gabel Segbedji, a national of Benin Republic, took off with the loot in a Toyota Camry car which also belonged to her boss, last Wednesday. Mrs. Nnamdi-Ogbue did not report the burglary to the police, in the hope of avoiding further attention, as she is already under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
