ASUU Strike:President Goodluck Said, We Didn’t Give ASUU Ultimatum

President Goodluck responded to questions at the expanded caucus meeting of the Bayelsa State Peoples Democratic Party held  at Government House, Yenagoa,  he said, the Supervising Minister of Education only passed on the decision of  the Committee of Vice Chancellors. “We didn’t give them ultimatum; it was the Committee of Vice Chancellors that took that decision.  A baby baby boy covered in white cloth put inside a polythene bag was got rid of at the back-yard of a house in Jemtok road, along Ago-Palace Way, Okota, Lagos.  A former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has said the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party may signal its end as a ruling party in the country. Oyinlola said this against the background of the refusal of the leadership of the party to obey the Court of Appeal judgment that reinstated him as the national secretary of the party. LEADERS of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday, suspended indefinitely the union’s National Executive Council, NEC, meeting planned to hold in Kano over the tragic auto-crash that claimed the life of ASUU former President, Professor Festus Iyayi, on Tuesday morning. Thousands of students who had kept vigil, waiting for the outcome of ASUU NEC meeting, therefore went home disappointed following the announcement of the suspension of the meeting.
