APC mourns Audu

 All Progressives Congress, APC has said that it will act within the confines of the rule of law in responding to the inconclusiveness of the Kogi State governorship election that held on Saturday. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had declared the election inconclusive following the gap between cancelled votes and the wining margin and incidentally, the APC’s candidate, Prince Abubakar Auduimmediately after the election died. It is believed that Audu’s death immediately had prompted a constitutional controversy as the country’s constitution did not envisage the present But for the meantime, the APC said it is still studying the scenario, hoping to take a decision on it soon. Mali's Hotel Attack

A group of Islamist gunmen involved in the storming of a luxury hotel in Mali’s capital, Bamako, continued to hold out against security forces on Friday even after the evacuation of all civilians from the building, a security ministry spokesman said. “The attackers no longer have hostages. They are dug in in the upper floors. They are alone with the Malian special forces who are trying to dislodge them,” spokesman Amadou Sangho said.

$2.9b Arms Deal: Buhari Orders Dasuki to Be Arrested

Nigeria President Buhari on Tuesday night ordered the arrest of the former NSA,  Sambo Dasuki (Rtd), for allegedly siphoning billions of dollars earmarked for arms purchases. In ordering the arrest, President Buhari observed that the actions of the erstwhile NSA brought the nation to international ridicule as the failure to procure the arms incapacitated the military in the face of the insurgency orchestrated by the Boko Haram sect.

Pastor Rapes 13-year-old Girl during Deliverance

Police IN Nasarawa State command on Monday arrested a 46 year-old pastor, Ifeanyi Bernard, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old teenage girl in the Karu Local Government Area of the state. According to police authorities, the alleged rape took place on November 3 when the pastor was performing deliverance on the teenager. However, the pastor described the incident as the handiwork of the devil. While parading the suspect at the Criminal Investigative Department, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sani Mohammed, said the suspect was apprehended following a report by the father of the victim, Mr. Martins Ijiwo. According to the police, the cleric, who lives in the Alikima Mararaba area of the state, lured the victim into his house under the pretext of casting out demons from her. The police boss said the cleric allegedly pushed her to his bed and raped her repeatedly.
