Scores of people has been killed in multiple explosion that occurred in Kano state. It was difficult to ascertain the number of casualties of the explosions but Channels TV, in its 10pm news report, said about 20 people had been killed. AFP reports that “at least four explosions” had occurred in the Sabon Gari neighbourhood on Monday. “There is confusion all over the place. Kola Oyebanji, a resident of the neighbourhood, believed “beer parlours” were the target. He said, “My house is not far from there. Imposter: Fake Fashola’s Wife Charged

Mrs Asogbon Victoria , 53-year old teacher on grade level 10,  has been charged  before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for allegedly impersonating the wives of Lagos State Governor, Dame Emmanuela Abimbola Fashola and her Osun State Counterpart, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola. In a 10-count charge filed by the Lagos Attorney General before the court, Mrs Asogbon was alleged to have, at various times, represented herself as Mrs Fashola and Mrs Aregbesola through text messages to some individuals and collected huge sums of money and Ramadan gifts from them. In one of the charges, Mrs Asogbon was alleged to have fraudulently collected N100,000 from the Chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Government Council after sending him a text message claiming that she was sent to collect the money by Fashola’s wife. Asogbon was also alleged to have sent similar text message to Isaac Omoregie, Education Secretary of Alimosho Local Government and collected three blackberry phones worth N105,000 from the ch

14 Traffic Offenders jailed in Akwa Ibom

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Akwa Ibom on weekday said it prosecuted ninety one traffic offenders in its mobile court for varied offences from january to july. The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Gods-Gift Uwem, told the news agency of nigeria (NAN) in Uyo, that seventy seven persons were guilty whereas fourteen persons were jail without choice of fine. According to him, those in remission were prosecuted and convicted for offences like non-use of safety belt, poor lighting system, dangerous driving, use of phone whereas driving and drivers’ licence violation. “The offenders were sentenced at the discretion of the magistrate, betting on the traffic offence committed and in line with the stipulated punishment. “Most of these sentenced to jail were made to serve for periods starting from the minimum of two weeks to most of 3 months,” he said. 28 Soldiers Arrested In Lagos for leaving their duty posts

Military police on Thursday said it has arrested twenty eight wandering soldiers within the streets of lagos. Maj. Oyegoke Badamosi, spokesperson for the nine Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ikeja camp, made this known to the agency of Federal Republic of Nigeria (NAN) in port. Badamosi said the soldiers were not on their duty post, the military police connected to “Operation Checkmate”, to curb misconduct and unauthorised movement of personnel within the town. He added that the operation was geared toward checkmating soldiers who go about while not staying at their duty posts. He, however, said those arrested had been discharged once confirmation from their offices that they were real personnel. Badamosi said that the operation would be a daily routine and would be extended to different parts of the state to enable the military authority to still enforce armed forces rules on personnels.

Nigeria First Lady, Patience Jonathan loses mother in accident

Reports has it that the Mother of the wife of Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, Mrs. Iwari-Oba, might have died in an auto-accident on Monday. The mother of Mrs. Jonathan was said to have been involved in a ghastly motor accident on Elele Road in Rivers State. Her mother, who is from Okrika local government area, was on her way to Bayelsa State when the accident happened  her corpse has been deposited within the mortuary. The report mentioned mr. Evans Bipi, a relative of Mrs Jonathan, as one of the people that deposited the corpse at the mortuary, with an aide to Bipi confirming that the lady died about 4p.m yesterday. China: 75 persons dead, 400 injured in a Twin Earthquakes

Multiple earthquakes have struck in China leaving at least 75 persons dead and injuring 400, The quakes hit close to the city of Dingxi in Gansu province,which has a population of 26 million. Man Escaped been Killed, when a Train crushed his car in Ibadan

Mr Sola Ibitoye, escaped been crushed in his car on Saturday at Sango Railway Crossing in Ibadan, Oyo State, when his Renault car got stocked in the rails.
