The ruling party PDP condemns the decision by ACN calling for the president’s impeachment.
The leadership of the Peoples political party, PDP has suspect the opposition Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN of plotting to destabilize the system following the latter’s revived call for the impeachment of President Goodluck jonathan over the recent developments within the Rivers State House of Assembly
The PDP Acting National publicity Secretary, Tony Okeke, in a very statement issued in Nigerian capital on Sunday said such a decision was a sign that the opposition party is so “unserious, lacked direction and solely seeks to destabilize the polity”.
The ruling party said that though it doesn't in any way lend support to the violence recently witnessed within the Rivers State House of Assembly, brawls ar common options in parliaments across the planet. It questioned however the recent fray in Rivers House of Assembly interprets into an impeachable offense on the a part of the President.
“For the avoidance of doubt, President Goodluck jonathan has nothing to try to to with the activities of the Rivers State House of Assembly and has no link some within the recent developments therein legislative house,” the party insisted.
