National drugs law enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ekiti State command has declared the discovery of 122 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa, a lot of usually referred to as Indian hemp, hid within one ofll|one amongst|one in every of} the school rooms in a personal secondary school in ado Ekiti, the state capital.
The NDLEA told newsmen in ado Ekiti on weekday that the hemp was “inside ten sacks and were drop there by unknown drug dealers apparently as a result of the NDLEA has dislodged the drugs dealers from their hideouts within the urban center.”
According to the Assistant Commander of NDLEA in the state, Mr Samson Ofila, following the dislodgment of the drug dealers at Atikankan and Ojunmose, further as other drug points in the urban center that gave thanks to the urban renewal project of the government, the dealers were longing for every kind of space to cover their illicit merchandise.
Officials of the Operations and Intelligence unit of the command, the school spoke on behalf of the state commander of NDLEA, Mr Bamidele Akingbade, explained that the owner of the college saw the exhibits and quickly came to report his finding to the NDLEA.
According to him, “the efforts being created by Ekiti NDLEA command had made it tough for drug dealers within the state to find a secure place to store their drugs,” adding that “last month, a task force was set up to raid all the notorious joints in ado Ekiti’s the school of drugs medication to Ekiti State.
“This led to forceful reduction of hemp within the state and lots of Cannabis sativa plantations within the state are destroyed, that created available ones expensive and difficult for several of them to buy.”
The NDLEA chief disclosed that six drug dealers arrested recently within the state were taken to the palace of the ado Ekiti traditional ruler, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, and were made to swear an oath that they're going to leave Ekiti State and not come, adding that “the action was taken to confirm they don’t come to destroy the state with hard drugs
