John Kerry arrive Aso Villa, meets with Buhari

John Kerry, US Secretary of States of the United States of America, has arrived the presidential Villa at exactly 3:07 pm from where he was received and ushered into President Muhammdu Buhari’s office by the Chief of Protocol, State House, Mr. Lawal Kazaure. The meeting with the President ended at about 4:40pm after which Kerry proceeded to the State House Waiting Room where he met with some Northern state governors. The governors included those of Bauchi, Borno, Kwara and Sokoto states as well the deputy governor of Benue State.

Abuja Faulty Traffic Lights Cause of Accidents

   There is hardly a week, car accidents are not recorded in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, most especially at junctions with non-functioning or Mal-functioning traffic lights, terrible accidents are recorded on regular bases at the various junctions.   The previous Government installed solar powered traffic lights in various junctions in the FCT which has greatly reduced the head on collision of cars at these junctions. But the junctions with the old type of traffic light(non-solar) are the major point were regular accidents are recorded as either the lights are not even working again or they are mal-functioning.      We in Abujatalk we are calling on the FCT Minister Malam Muhammad Bello, to as a matter of urgency take action in installing solar powered traffic lights at this junctions replacing the old non-functioning traffic lights. Lagos ranks world’s 3rd worst city to live in Global Liveability Ranking 2016

       The Economist Intelligence Unit released Global Liveability Ranking 2016 report, ranking Lagos as the third worst city to live, maintaining its position at the lowest rungs of the Global Liveability index. The top five best countries to live in, according to the report, remain unchanged from last year and they include Melbourne, Australian; Vienna, Austria; Vancouver, Canada; Toronto, Canada; and Calgary, Canada. The liveability survey assesses which locations around the world provide the best or the worst living conditions across five broad categories, including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Lagos scored highest in culture and environment, followed by infrastructure. It scored lowest in stability. Three other African cities joined Lagos at the bottom rung of the liveable cities, including Douala, Cameroon; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Algiers, Algeria; ranking 132nd, 133rd, and 134th respectively.
