The Lagos zonal command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reportedly seized N32.4 million on Friday, allegedly intended for vote buying in Lagos State. According to a statement by the EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, the recovery was made by operatives who apprehended a suspect involved and have taken them into custody for further questioning.
The EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has urged all personnel deployed for election monitoring duties to exhibit bravery and avoid allowing unscrupulous individuals to compromise the integrity of the elections with financial incentives.
