Hassan Ahmad has been apprehended by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for possessing N2 million cash that was purportedly meant for a politician in Gombe. The cash was found to be a combination of old and new notes. The suspect was arrested by the Troops of 33 Artillery Brigade Operation Safe Conduct and subsequently handed over to the Bauchi State Office of the anti-graft agency. The money was being transported in a black Hilux vehicle with a tinted window and registration number JMA 85 AZ. The funds were packed in a "Ghana Must Go" bag and consisted of six bundles of N1000 new notes amounting to N600,000, six bundles of N500 new notes amounting to N300,000, and old two hundred naira notes amounting to N1.1 million. The suspect has admitted that the money was intended for a politician in Gombe State. The ICPC is currently carrying out further investigations on the matter
