Commotion in Natonal Assembly: David Mark Shuts Down House

Nigerian security forces fired teargas on Thursday inside the parliament complex as opposition lawmakers, including the speaker of the lower house, arrived for a key vote on emergency rule in the northeast. The leader of the Senate, David Mark, later ordered the immediate closure of both chambers until next week over the incident. This was as a result of the confusion that engulfed the complex earlier today. Security operatives, Earlier today fenced the Speaker of the House of  Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal from entering the National Assembly Complex. Lawmakers who accompanied the speaker had to climb the second entry point gate as some who could not climb sustained injuries while trying to scale over. At about 10.54am after  much entreaties the speaker was allowed entry but other lawmakers were denied entry. Atiku, Tinubu meet Obasanjo in Abeokuta

  Nigeria political games cannot be predicted by political students, because nigeria have their own ways of politicking, Atiku Abubakar, on Friday held a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, at Mr. Obasanjo’s home in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Mr. Abubakar, who was vice president under Mr. Obasanjo, was at his former boss’ home in the afternoon, with a convoy of vehicles carrying several supporters. On arrival, Mr. Abubakar went into a closed-door meeting with Mr. Obasanjo, which lasted for over 30 minutes. His supporters remained outside singing Atiku’s praises. Mr. Abubakar had earlier paid a visit to the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and later held a meeting with APC supporters in the state. Mr. Abubakar was accompanied to Mr. Obasanjo’s home by a former Minister of Education, Babalola Aborishade, who is also the director general of the Atiku Campaign Organisation, and Oyewole Fasawe, an associate of Mr. Obasanjo. Boko Haram militants capture Chibok again

Boko Haram sect have, again, seized Chibok, the home of over 200 schoolgirls abducted by the insurgents in April. The insurgents attacked and seized the town on Thursday evening, residents said. The attackers have repeatedly targeted villages around Chibok over recent months. A senator from Borno State, Ali Ndume, told the BBC Hausa service that security forces deployed in the town ran away when the insurgents attacked. Residents said the insurgents headed to the centre of Chibok and declared that they were taking it over as part of their caliphate. The insurgents have changed tactics in recent months by holding on to territories rather than using hit-and-run attacks that have left thousands dead.

Woman abducts stepdaughter, buries her in soakaway

We are living in a terrifying world, this story from the punch news paper will also convince you; police in Lagos have arrested a woman, Aminat Akanni, for allegedly abducting two of her stepchildren and murdering one of them because she claimed her husband refused to provide Sallah clothes for her own son. Aminat was arrested by the police at CMS Bus Stop, Lagos Island, on October 9, prior to the arrest, seven-year-old Lateef and four-year-old Nofisat had been declared missing on Friday, October 3- a day to the Sallah celebration. It was learnt that the father of the missing children, Moshood Mubo, who is also the suspect’s husband, had raised the alarm and reported the case to the Adeniji Adele Police Division on Friday, October 3. However, after the suspect’s arrest, she confessed to have abducted the two kids from Church Street, Lagos Island where they lived. She further confessed to have also killed the younger, child, Nofisat, by pushing her into soakaway beside a mosque in th
