Again 32 dead as gunmen raid 3 villages in Plateau

Just when you think its ending there it comes again! when will all these killings stop in Nigeria? again about 32 persons have been killed in three villages in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State in an attack allegedly coordinated by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The attackers allegedly invaded Bolgang, Karkashi and Magama villages on Wednesday morning, shooting indiscriminately.
They were said to have gone with motorbikes after those that tried to escape.
Some of those killed were said to be students writing their National Examinations Council, NECO, examinations, while several houses and vehicles were burnt.
It was learnt that the attack was launched from nearby Shikal village, where they reportedly gathered days earlier.
Majority of those killed at Magama were said to be the aged and children, while nine people were reported killed at Bolgang, which was completely razed.
‘I lost my mother, brother’
Chairman of the Provincial Church Council of COCIN, Rev. Nandip Miri, said he lost his aged father and brother in the attack, adding that the exact number of those killed was yet to be ascertained.
He said: “We cannot know the actual number of people that lost their lives as we are still picking dead bodies from the bush. The attackers followed the victims on motorcycles, killing them mercilessly as they tried to escape.
“So many dead bodies were found in the bush and more may still be discovered later.”
Over 100 houses razed
Chairman, Management Committee for Langtang South Local Government Area, Mr. Narman Darko, confirmed on phone, yesterday, that 32 people were killed and over a hundred houses razed in the three villages.
He said 23 people were killed at Magama, seven at Bolgan, while two corpses were found between Karkashi and Magama.
He said members of the Special Task Force have moved to the troubled area to forestall further attacks and urged the people to be security-conscious and to report suspicious movements to security men.
Rep reacts
Member representing Lantang South in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Mrs. Joyce Ramnap, who raised the issue at the house, yesterday, said no security assistance came the way of his constituents for hours, while the attackers operated.
However, police said they were yet to get details of the attack when contacted.
