Pension scam: Abdulrasheed Maina sacked

Abdulrasheed Maina
"FG has finally taken a decisive action regarding the allegation of fraud in the Nigerian pension reform Task Team, as it yesterday confirmed the immediate sack of the controversial chairman of the Team,  Abdulrasheed Maina,  owing to the pressure it had received  from the National Assembly on the matter.

Maina was sack in such a manner that people would not begin to suspect that the presidency bowed to the National Assembly’s submission on the matter; hence, it quietly dissolved the PRTT.
It could be recalled that the National Assembly had agitated severally for the sack of Maina, after he was enmeshed in allegation of fraud as Chairman of the Task reform Team, and at the same time, refusing to appear before the Lawmakers for further probe.
Even though the Head of Service, Bello Sali, had announced the dissolution of the PRTT and the transfer of pensions funds management to his office, a new Director, Olabisi Jaji, was again appointed to succeed Maina. She is to assume office immediately.
Jaji, a level 17 officer was formerly in the Ministry of Environment.
Jaji is to be assisted by a Deputy Director, Elizabeth Zenetini who has been deployed by the HoS from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to CIPPO.
A directive from the Head of Service clearly showed that the two officers must take up their new task on or before March 6.
It has not yet been confirmed what disciplinary action would be taken against Maina, as the HoS in the new directive did not disclose anything regarding that aspect"-DAILYPOST
