Nigeria: Blaze hits Lagos 'after fireworks blast'

An explosion has been reported in a warehouse in lagos,th explosion has sparked a major fire in Lagos, Nigeria's commercial capital. Witnesses said fireworks were stored in the warehouse in the busy market area of Lagos Island, and the blaze quickly spread to other buildings
. The blast reportedly shook windows of homes several miles away and a thick cloud of smoke could be seen rising over the island. It was not immediately clear if there were any casualties. We reported sometime ago about the ban of fire works in plateau state and kaduna just when alot of marketer have purchased these stuffs in stock. How do you expect them to sell them off, why will the government not ban the importation , kill it from the root.These things are potential time bomb if kept in ware house without proper attention. The recent explosion/fire outbreak in lagos has been linked to fireworks items stored in the building.
