Woman Nabbed for allegedly Stealing A baby in Abuja

Abuja: the police at Life Camp division have arrested a 20-year old lady for allegedly stealing a four-month-old baby from a church at Kado village.
The suspect who resides at Angwan Cement, was said to have committed the alleged offence on Sunday morning.
A source at the division said the suspect claims to be a food marketer at Efab Gate. She went along with her friend to Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC) Kado village and stole the baby from an 11-year old woman taking care of the kid.
The police source that when stealing the kid, she left her friend and disappeared to Auta Balofa village in Nasarawa state, where she gave the kid to her former boss.
It was gathered that the police at Life Camp division was ready to arrest the suspect through a close friend who took her to the church.
“When she was arrested, she denied stealing any kid, but after much qustioning she confessed that the kid has been handed over to a girl in Nasarawa state however sadly the lady she handed the kid to was conjointly searching for her to present back the kid to her.
Pastor Isah Bashayi of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), Kado village, told our said that the person taking care of the kid was making an attempt to place the kid to sleep when the suspect, who wasn't a member of his church told the woman that she was his wife’s younger sister.
“She took the baby from her, doing as if to place the baby to sleep, the mother, who lives opposite my church, had gone home to select up one thing. when the mother of the kid came and demanded for her baby, the little girl said my sister relative-in-law collected the kid. I asked for her description, we remembered that a woman of that description was seen in my church recently. we ran to Life Camp police division and reported. Her friend, who stays at Angwa Cement, she was arrested and she provided us along with her photos. The police swooped into action and recovered the kid,” the pastor narrated.
The suspect told our newsperson that she saw a little woman holding a crying baby and set to take the kid from her.
She said when she took the child from the woman, she went and gave the kid to her former boss, who already has 3 children.
Juliana said she didn’t tell her boss that the kid was taken but she abandoned the kid in her house so that she could hustle to get milk for the baby.
“I right away left Nasarawa to Angwa Cement to look for cash, as soon as I came back, i was instantly arrested by the police and that i led them to where the kid is,” she said.
The Life Camp divisional police officer, Chief Superintendent Muhammad Umar, confirmed the arrest and said the lady is suspected to be a member of a child trafficking syndicate.
He said investigation remains in progress and she or he would be charged to court soon.
