Wuse Police kill 2 suspected robbers

Police at Wuse division said they shot dead two unidentified armed robbers in a gun battle on Tuesday night.
A police source hinted our reporter that on Tuesday at about 2022 hours at Arewa bridge in Wuse, three armed men attacked one Hajiya Amina Mohammed and snatched her bag.
The source said as soon as they snatched the handbag, they ran into the bush but unknown to them, policemen were in the bush on foot patrol.
“When they noticed that policemen were in the bush, the robbers opened fire and our men responded. In the process, one of them was shot and the other two ran off to an unknown destination. The bag was recovered while the suspect was confirmed dead at Wuse General Hospital,” the source informed.
The police source also said that the same night at about 2230 hours a distressed call was received from the chairman Police Community Relations Committee Wuse that a robbery was going on at Number 2 Garden Kayees Street, Wuse Zone 7.
The source said immediately the call was received, policemen from Wuse division moved to the scene and met the robbers still operating.
“When the robbers noticed the police they opened fire and our men cordoned the place and responded. In the process, one of the robbers was shot while the others escaped leaving behind the following items; cable wires, motor car batteries  and car side mirrors,” he said.
When contacted, FCT police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent Hyehira Altine Daniel, confirmed the killing of the robbers in separate shoot outs and said investigation is still ongoing on the incidents
