FG has embarked on a major shake-up in the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) leading to the appointment of Mr. David Paradang as the new immigration boss.
Minister of interior Mr. Abba Moro confirmed the appointment of Mr. Paradang on Monday night.
Following the appointment, seven deputy comptroller general of immigration (DCGs) and all assistant comptroller general of immigration (ACGs) senior to the new immigration boss would be eased out of service.
The appointment of Mr. Paradang brings to an end months of lobbying and politicking on who succeeds Mrs. Rose Uzoma, the immediate Comptroller General of Immigration (CGI) who retired early in 2013.
Mrs. Uzoma was asked to leave the service three months to her retirement following allegation of high-headedness, corruption and undisciplined attitude towards top government functionaries while in office.
