After the controversial baby bumps display by celebs, Kim k has decided to set another contest by the display of her nude pregnant statue! "Contemporary sculptor Daniel Edwards unveiled his newest work yesterday, a life-sized figure of the 32-year-old reality star, titled “L.A. Fertility.” Daniel encourages those that visit the LAB ART Gallery in Los Angeles, where the piece is currently on display, to rub the statue’s bare belly for good luck.
Like the breadth of Daniel’s work, the sculpture isn’t just a commentary on the public’s fascination-borderline-obsession with celebrities’ private lives, particularly pregnancy, but also a commentary on the criticism she’s endured over her current weight gain.
“People tend to look at the parts, like the creases in her armpits, or how she wore a dress that makes her look like a killer whale,” he told Los Angeles magazine. “I’m stripping it of the details people get stuck on, so they can see the beauty.”
It’s part of an exhibit called “Celebrity Baby Boomer” and includes a bronze of Kim and Kanye West’s baby daughter in utero, and a portrait of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s baby (it has angel wings), prenatal.
Much of Daniel’s artwork is celebrity-driven and tabloid-inspired. He first made a splash in the arts scene when he debuted a nude of Britney Spears giving birth to her son (she was pregnant with Sean Preston at the time) on a bearskin rug, a statue of Angelina Jolie breastfeeding, and a piece called “Paris Hilton Autopsy,” which had the heiress splayed in a sexually-charged position.
