A police source at Utako division informed our said that Mr. Umeh Danjuma came to Utako division and reported that at about 1100hours, Thursday morning, he returned unannounced to his house after briefly leaving for work.
He said that on his way back, he had noticed his niece and daughter buying soft drinks.
The source said Mr. Umeh inquired after his two other younger children he had left at home only to be told by the youngsters that they were inside the house with an ‘auntie.’
According to the source when he got home, he found the suspect emptying some items into the trash can and that upon further enquiry; the suspect claimed she was sent by his wife to plait his daughter’s hair.
The source said Mr. Umeh became frightened when one of his young children said they were ready to go out with the suspect.
“Mr. Umeh searched the trash and discovered that she had stolen some items including human hair and children clothing which she had put in the kitchen trash intending to take them out to the general trash can outside.
Suspicious by then, he put a call through to his wife, who revealed that she had not sent the suspect. It was then he realized that the suspect had sinister motives and called in the police,’’ the source hinted.
Reacting, the Utako Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Usman K. Umar, confirmed the story and said when the suspect entered the house, she sent the maid to go and buy recharge cards for her.
He said the suspect stole clothes and hid them inside the dustbin pretending to dispose them as refuse but the arrival of the owner of the house changed her plans.
“The suspect when questioned, said she went to Wuse 2 Abuja because of an urge to plait children’s hair. She said she entered a cab, saw a big house, and told the taxi driver to stop. She then went inside the house. When she asked of the madam of the house, she was told she was not around. She then sent the house help on errand so that she could kidnap the children and pack their properties,” the DPO said.
He added that a search of the suspect’s house revealed pornographic pictures of children and adults and that she was not acting alone but had other ladies with which she perpetuates crime" Dailytrust
