Son, 22, gutted his own mother and disemboweled her with a poker

A 22-year-old Connecticut man has admitted to police he used a fire poker and then a buck knife to ruthlessly gut his own mother and pull out her intestines on Thursday. A chilling police report shows that Robert Owen Rankin of Deep River didn’t know exactly what all the guts and gore he pulled from his mother Margaret Rohner, 45, were, but he knew why he was doing it. ‘I don't know exactly what the stuff was, like octopus tentacles,’ he would coolly recount to police. ‘I killed my mother because she is pretty much responsible for everything that has gone wrong in my life.’

Reduce Heart Attacks By Eating Less Salt Daily

Lowering our salt intake by just two pinches a day could prevent 13,000 heart attacks and 5,000 strokes, say researchers. The findings come at a time of year when salt consumption in the UK peaks, with the average Christmas dinner packing  nearly double the recommended daily allowance at 11g. But manufacturers could do far more to help us by further reducing the amount in processed foods. Although the national intake has fallen in recent years, it remains above the recommended maximum of 6g a day, with average consumption at 8.6g. Excess salt is a major contributor to high blood pressure, leading to heart disease and stroke. The latest research by a team of scientists at Wageningen University in the Netherlands found nearly 5 per cent of all heart attacks and almost 6 per cent of strokes could be prevented if there was less salt in food products such as ready meals

New:iPhone 6 will have 5-inch display, says new report

Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6 will finally match up to its key Android rivals and pack a 5-inch, Full HD 1080p display. That’s according to new rumours emerging from Japan, published in Mac Fan magazine. The move to a larger screen would not be a huge surprise. Apple is said to have been testing larger, phablet-style phones for months, with a slew of stories of 6-inch devices emanating from supply-chain sources throughout the summer. This new piece of tittle tattle, though, says a 5-inch number is nailed-on. While Mac Fan’s sources' credentials as sources of juicy info remain unclear, it's undoubtedly fair to say that a device of that size wouldn’t be seen as too large by most consumers. The magazine also claims the iPhone 6 will launch in September 2014. That seems almost a given, what with the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5 arriving in the same timeframe in the past two years. Expect to hear plenty more gossip about Apple’s next iPhone as 2014 looms into view.

Goodluck Jonathan Christmas Message

As the world marks the birth of Jesus Christ, let me, on behalf of myself, my family and the Federal Government, extend the good tidings of peace, progress and joy to every home throughout our beloved country Nigeria.  Christmas is a time of joyous family gatherings and as President, I see every Nigerian as a member of my family and I urge us all to retain the unique sense of brotherly love that this season evokes beyond the Yuletide period.  While we will surely mark this  holiday in our different ways and according to our established traditions, it is my desire that we all celebrate Christmas with some minimum comforts and my team and I have long prepared for this by working to improve our infrastructure especially those that most serve us during this season. Knowing that this period is the peak period for cross country travels amongst our people, this administration has fast tracked the repair and reconstruction of artery roads nationwide. We have also ensured that the nightmare

Jonathan replies Obasanjo-"you wrongfully accused me of deceit, deception, dishonesty,,,,,"

"May 2014 be free of open Letters from the high and low" Jonathan replies Obasanjo in his own "Open Letter", the letter dated December 20, 2013 ran thus: December 20th 2013 His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR Agbe L’Oba House, Quarry Road, Ibara, Abeokuta. RE: BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE I wish to formally acknowledge your letter dated December 2, 2013 and other previous correspondence similar to it. You will recall that all the letters were brought to me by hand. Although both of us discussed some of the issues in those letters, I had not, before now, seen the need for any formal reply since, to me, they contained advice from a former President to a serving President. Obviously, you felt differently because in your last letter, you complained about my not acknowledging or replying your previous letters. It is with the greatest possible reluctance that I now write this reply. I am most uneasy about embarking on this unprecedented and unconvent

Politices In the House

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was last night locked in a meeting with the remnants of the party caucus in the House of Representatives in Transcorp Hotel, Abuja. Last night’s meeting was one of several carrot and stick options initiated by the party hierarchy to hold other fidgety legislators contemplating leaving the party. The day before the meeting 37 members of the PDP caucus in the House defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC turning the once dominant majority into a minority. One of the responses from the presidency was the decision of President Goodluck Jonathan to absent himself from the presentation of the 2014 budget proposals to the National Assembly. In his stead, the coordinating minister of the economy and minister of finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala presented the proposals to the two houses of the National Assembly. It was the first time that a sitting and fit president would present the country’s financial projections to the l

Hollywood Man Uses Sign on his Car to find love

A Hollywood man thinks a sign in the back of his car may lead him to Ms. Right. Very funny! And yes, he gets lots of calls When Erika Santos saw it, a few things crossed her mind: “Is this guy a loser?” “This is hilarious.” “Is this a joke?” “I need a husband. Why not?” Turns out the man on the other end of the line, Hollywood mechanic and Hummer tour operator Alexander Gorbunov, 37, isn’t in the market for himself. He just likes to play matchmaker for his friends and family. “I have a lot of single friends,” Gorbunov said in Russian. “It’s for fun. I like to bring people together.” And it works. Santos has been dating Gorbunov’s uncle, Michael Korol, for the last seven months. “I couldn’t be happier,” Santos said.
